| Mom and Dad try to confuse Jacob at every opportunity. One morning, he thought he was just going to play with his friend and, Boom, he ends up at a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. Another day, he thought he was just going to have a regular day and we drive up north for an afternoon of water fun. He's really good at adapting to variety because even parents don't know what will happen sometimes. The upstairs A/C went out and we all spent a couple nights sleeping in the family room for comfort. It was weird for him to be downstairs non-stop for that long and then, a few days later, Dad decided to paint a room downstairs so Mom had to keep the fun going upstairs until the fumes dissipated. Jacob and Kirsten spent a lot of time together this month but it's getting so hard now that they are both at that really opinionated stage and each can snap in a heartbeat and become little terrors or little darlings and their moms can't always tell who has instigated a fight and who is just an innocent victim. And then they'll be hugging and giggling like nothing happened! Both kids have been loving water this summer so they have been water babies. Constant swimsuit and towel washing is a must with daily opportunities to frolic and swim, dragging their poor parents along for the ride. The moms are beginning to feel like chauffeurs.
