December 1-15, 2006

The virus that ate Virginia hit the younger members of the family, hard!  It was a 2 week bug, 1 week of gruesome and 1 week of slowly recovering, and there was an overlap week so we had 1 week of J really sick (he even missed school), 1 week of L really sick while J recovered, and, finally, 1 week of L recovering.  Poor Jacob rode the Santa train and just didn't enjoy it the way he should have (we'll have to try again next year).  We never made it to the mall to sit on Santa's lap.  Much holiday shopping was never completed in the interest of keeping the boys home to a) minimize the sharing of the germs with others, b) keep Mommy and Daddy from doing too much and possibly lowering their resistance, and c) allow for the healing with humidifiers, vitamins, etcetera.  A sick almost-3-year-old is a bummer while a sick 1 month old is just horrible.  Poor little guy couldn't breathe, didn't want to eat, and really freaked everyone out.  We really don't recommend the experience to anyone!
