May 2006

This is a short month - not in number of days, but in number of pictures, since we took so many at Disney World that they merit another full page.  May brought sunshine, finally, but also had some chillier than average days so one day Jacob would wear shorts and a t-shirt and the next, long sleeves and pants.  We took a trip to Crownsville where he played with his cousins and got to take an evening cruise on their new boat.  He was having so much fun, he fell fast asleep (well, that and he hadn't had a nap).  We also had several park play dates and got to explore the local terrain.  Frogs, snakes, birds, squirrels, there is nothing more fun for an energetic toddler than to run after wildlife all afternoon long.  Mr. Future American Idol has become quite the performer.  He will stop what he is doing to perform the ABCs, Itsy Bitsy Spider, or Twinkle Twinkle and heaven forbid you try to join in.  Daddy won big bonus points this month by picking up Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and Jessie "action figures" (they're not dolls when a little boy plays with them) and Jake has played with them every day since.  Puzzles are a new favorite...we do the same five over and over and over again and then he pulls them right apart.  He would rather shower with Mommy or Daddy than take a bath, ride his bike in the basement than outside, and run and explore than play with his friends.  He's very opinionated and strong-willed which has us in the Terrible Twos Tantrum phase, but we're learning to tune them out.  Enjoy this month's photos!
