September 2006

What a fun month for a two-year-old!  Every time he thought we were getting into a rut, hanging out a home, going to the playground, etcetera, we'd throw an adventure at him.  Labor Day weekend found us in Maryland, celebrating Carly's birthday and doing some jetskiing.  He had more fun feeding his pretzels to the ducks that wandered by than we thought he would.  School started and getting in to that routine took some adjusting - from waking up early enough to having another female authority figure (yes, when she says you may not take a toy from another child, you have to listen to her just like you would to Mommy!)  It has been confusing that Mom has been in the classroom many times through the month, loading up on co-op duty so we can have the winter off while Dad accrues leave at his new job and Mom functions as a dairy factory. One weekend, we attended a luau party thrown by Kirsten and family (which would have been more rockin' if poor Kathie hadn't broken her foot and been wheelchair bound), then went to a friend's birthday party.  So many things to do and places to go and he loved it all.  Later in the month, we went to another friend's birthday party at a nearby ranch and, oh my, the animals.  Though the rain threatened to fall, it stayed away and the pony ride we promised him was a definite thrill.  We went looking for Halloween costumes and he finally chose one which you will see next month (our last in the every 3 month portrait sessions before we switch to just January and July).  That's all 'til then...
