| Our traditional Christmas Eve "Eat and Greet" was transformed by fighting and destruction. Kind of. We ended up playing Wii Sports and had a great time, with Mom knocking out Dad in the 3rd round of boxing, and Aunt Viki punching the TV in her quest to knock out Timmy. Hilarious, and a good workout. We spent Christmas Day at home, spending the morning relaxing and exploring the contents of our stockings before the grandparents and 3 of the cousins and their mom came down for the afternoon and evening. After lunch and presents and widespread snacking, we finally convinced Jacob and Grace to try decorating some gingerbread cookies. They had a ball, luring the older boys away from whatever new gadget had caught their eye. Unfortunately, the pics of all of them happily creating monstrous, alien gingerbread things failed to turn out so...you'll have to take our word for it. It was a great closer to a wonderful holiday. We even got our own Wii so when it is our turn (in 2009?) to host Christmas Eve, we'll be sure to put a tape line on the carpet to save our TV from flying fists! |
