We've had a great start to the new year. The boys have been relatively healthy and the weather has been fairly nice, allowing Jacob to burn off some of his energy running around outside. Lucas has been perfecting the gummy smile and growing like a weed. We can't believe how chubby he is. It's impossible not to compare the two boys and we find ourselves frequently saying things like "Jacob's legs weren't that chunky when he was this age" and "Lucas is such a good sleeper, so much better than Jacob." They're both going to grow up with a complex. Can't help it. Personality-wise, Lucas just could not be more different than his big brother. On the plus side, he is mellow, does not mind being put down, will fall asleep on his own, and can entertain himself for minutes at a time. On the minus side, he is not as voracious an eater as Jacob was, so we don't think he'll gain weight at quite the insane pace, and when he does want attention, you better hurry because he has a cry that carries through walls. He's the first one awake in the morning and the last one asleep at night and in between, he has actually been known to wake his dad who slept through every middle of the night feeding during Jacob's infancy. As for Jacob, he is just loving school, hanging with his friends, and getting smarter every minute...
